Program Overview

  • Duration: 4 years (8 semesters)

  • Eligibility: Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (Plus Two) of the Kerala State Board or any equivalent examination with Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Application, Information Technology, Informatics Practice, Informatics, or Additional Mathematics as one of the subjects are eligible for admission.

  • Medium of Instruction: English

Curriculum Structure

The BCA Honours program encompasses a blend of core subjects, electives, skill enhancement courses, internships, and research projects:

  • Core Subjects: Fundamentals of Computers, Programming in C, Data Structures, Operating Systems, Database Management Systems, Software Engineering, Web Technologies, and more.

  • Electives: Advanced topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Cloud Computing.

  • Skill Enhancement Courses: Courses aimed at developing practical skills in areas like digital marketing, data analysis using spreadsheets, and office automation.

  • Internships: Mandatory internships in semesters 5 and 7 to provide hands-on industry experience.

  • Research Project: A comprehensive research project in the final semester for students opting for the Honours with Research track.
